06/24-25/2016 FRI/SAT - Relay 4 Life - Normal/61761
Normal Community High School
The weather was great and we had a great time posing for pictures and putting smiles on kids of all ages. The attendance for this event was smaller than years past but the committee is working hard to return this to the large scale this event has been known for.
We had 2 Grand Club members this year Barry Benecke 523 $5,747.68 & Tom Durbin 9293 $1,110. Way to go!!
At midnight 8/31 the books were closed on McLean County Relay for Life 2016 so these are the final totals.
Imperial Walkers direct funds raised $7,077.68
Total raised by all teams $298,828.00
Total charity hours 298

All right, look, there's only one "Return," okay, and it ain't "of the King," it's "of the Jedi!

Yes! It was team Imperial Walkers 12th consecutive McLean County Relay For Life! I love this picture taken by Charlotte Hartsock of me. I had my head shaven at St. Baldricks, and since my wife didn't complain, I shaved it again a month before the Relay. I wore it as my mom, who is the one I relay in her memory, lost her hair to her cancer treatments. Good report Jeremy!!! I don't know if the volunteer hours include the hours I did fundraising outside the Walmart, that was 8 1/2 hours X 5 fundraisers, plus 3 hours for Michael who came to one of my fundraisers, and 2 1/2 hours X 5 sorting, unfolding and counting the money from each of the 5 fundraisers or about 58 hours.
