TK321, unretired.
It's been three years.
Three very long years (give or take a couple months).
Some of you old timers know about some health issues I've dealt with in years past, and three years ago I was inflicted again. I still get migraines but they're not as severe and gratefully not on a daily basis.
I was also dealing with girlfriend problems (sadly I'll probably be single my entire life), work issues and family dealings.
But it is all behind me. I'm back. And it feels good.
I might need a nap now and then when the med's take affect, but I'm more fun on them.
(did I really see a cello playing Wookiee in a Klingon band?)
Kathy, thank you for never giving up on me and encouraging me to take the steps to return.
Luis, you're my brother by another mother (and father) and I could never sufficiently put in words what you mean to me.
Tom, yur a gude frend and a sorce of continyued amuzment. Yur enthuziasm is contajus.
Andy, all I can say is that you are amazing and the most positive person I know. Thank you. (and it's awesome to see you as a Trooper!!!)
Javier, being able to call you "friend" is an honor I don't take lightly. I'm taking you up on your offer to help modify my armor.
Arturo, you're an inspiration in my life, to be a better artist, craftsman and person. And I still owe you 2 Christmas cards...
Brian, THANK YOU for setting up my return and making it happen (now the entire MWG knows who to blame).
Jim Tampa, I'm still waiting for my Sunshine Care Bear Trooper drawing...
And most of all I feel the need to formally apologize to Aimee because she took the brunt of my anger and frustration when issues piled up on me. No one deserves to be treated like how I treated her.
Aimee, I value your friendship, your humor and intelligence. I am sorry.
Let's troop.
Robb

The prodigal trooper returns! I'm so glad you dropped in on Joliet and caught the trooping bug again, Robb. Some of my earliest memories of the Legion were at Star Wars in Concert, where you taught me all of the ins-and-outs of posing with the fans and making this whole thing FUN.
I couldn't be happier to see you back in the ranks again.
Now let's TROOP!

Oh, and for you newbies around here (Whoa. Can I really call anyone a newbie? I've only been here for, like, three and a half years! Now I'm OLD!)...
For all of you Shinies around here...
Robb was one of the MWG's very first members, and the first 501st Legion member in the entire state of Wisconsin. He established the relationship that WIG now has with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, and has made more people giggle with his goofiness from behind his white armor over the last 14 years than I would ever dare to guess. You're all going to have a blast whenever he's in town. I guarantee it!

Re: TK321, unretired.
Robb is a master of Tomglish.
321: Thanks for saying I'm the most positive person you know. You only really see me when I'm trooping, though....and that IS my "happy place", so you see me at my most positive when you see me at troops. In real life, though...I'm more on the negative end of the scale. Haven't been on a single date during those 3 years you've been missing around here. ( Hey, I can't deny what is in fact reality in my life, since you were complaining about your own girlfriend stuff, anyway. ) The last few years, pretty much 100% of my entire social life involves other costumers. Not that that is a bad thing. Love my costuming friends, and I do love trooping!
He is indeed the "pre-Hyper". I told Robb about Hyper already at Joliet, so when those two TK powerhouses of Stormtrooping meet, that will be the most epic troop I will have ever attended.Fleetfang wrote:Some of my earliest memories of the Legion were at Star Wars in Concert, where you taught me all of the ins-and-outs of posing with the fans and making this whole thing FUN.

Re: TK321, unretired.
When I first reg'd on these boards, you set the standard of random acts of kindness, and set the bar for generosity that defines the Legion for me. When I first showed up I needed a Kenner blaster to modify and, put up a thread. Robb sent me a PM that day saying he had one. I asked how much, and he told me not to worry about it. As a random stranger on these boards all I posted was my introduction thread. In addition to getting a blaster IN THE BOX unopened I got like 500 temporary tattoos and random goodies. Funny thing we never had the opportunity to meet! Not until the Joliet event, "Hi I'm Doughboy." 'Your who?" I felt like I just met a legend. I learned to pay it forward from this guy!
Welcome back!

Many bothans died to bring you this post...the tearing of ligaments and almost the loss of a TK's finger...

Darn. I should have thought of that and asked for new armor in my intro. When I first showed up I needed a Kenner blaster to modify and put up, and put up a thread
