Crap! That's no good! I still have yet to go over there. If they had the 3.5" leather blanks I was looking for I would have. I'll stop by eventually.

I can tell you for sure that Tandy does not cut hides to sell small pieces....TK3446 wrote:
Tandy does have it but you might not be able to buy a small piece of what you need. Ask the guys there if they have any remnants off to the side. Otherwise your looking at buying a big piece for around $80-100. You could make a bunch them.
they MIGHT have a piece in the remnant bin...BUT...those pieces are generally not big enough....
You can buy a veg tanned belly which is a smaller piece of hide and dye it black...the black dyes work very well...

The patterns are available either on the FISD boards (whitearmor.net) or available through google searches for stormtrooper holster. We can find on the good ones on sunday and print it up..you'll have a couple of TKs there to direct you to the best one for size and accuracy. Yeah for mom in law!Sakic Jade wrote:Score one for the mother in law! She had a nice piece of black leather I can use to make my holster! Looks like I will be a "go" for this....I "shopped" wisely and have a little spare $$
Anyway...
Doughboy...
Please bring your RFT shirt with you...I will bring my sewing machine to remove the cuffs and sew up the slit on your RFT shirt for you "while you wait".
I will be bringing leatherworking stuff as I am attempting Bespin Luke pouches...I hope to get to the "wet forming" process today and do the stitching and snap setting tomorrow....I am out of dye so I won't be able to attempt dying...

New plan on the holster. Leather I got was pretty thin, so Gaza and I came up with a new plan of attack!jweger77 wrote:The patterns are available either on the FISD boards (whitearmor.net) or available through google searches for stormtrooper holster. Woohoo!
Alum or resin, doesn't matter...it's for the DH-17 I plan on casting. Sadly the Sterling parts don't arrive till next week. But if I can pick ONE up it will be great!

It'd be cool if you could swing by Steve. Thomas also called me tonight and maybe by as well.
I'll be swinging by country donuts tomorrow morning too. I'll have the coffee on and the first 12 pack or two is cooling in the fridge. My biggest problem now is deciding what to bring with!
