Annual Awards Reception for the Chicagoland Chapter of Autism Speaks
Wednesday 11/7/12
Hyatt Regency O'Hare
9300 Bryn Mawr Avenue
Rosemont, IL 60018
The Midwest Garrison/Nar Shaddaa Base members were asked once again to come out to the Autism Speaks Awards Reception. It was a wonderful evening with great meaning, spirit and fun. There was a 14 year old gentleman that was diagnosed with Autism when he was only 3, and he gave the most amazing, heart-warming speech. He actually brought much of the audience to tears with his heartfelt words. Though I had never actually met this young man, I felt an overwhelming feeling of pride for him.
In addition to the speakers of the evening, there were photo presentations of this year’s Autism events, information given about future 2013 events, an amazing dinner and dessert buffet, as well as a couple of a cappella groups that gave fantastic performances for our entertainment.
The 2013 Soldier Field Autism Walk is already on the Event Planning boards. I hope you will be able to join us for this amazing event next year!
