Mokena Donations for MSABC 10-1-11
Neither rain, nor sleet, nor wind, nor pneumonia can keep us Southsiders from our mission...
our last fundraising effort for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer...
This year the Rebellion won the day as the customers at Berkots in Mokena found it hard to resist the Princess!
Early money counts show the Rebellion at $175.00 and the Empire at $140.00 for a team total of at least $315.00. Where the $$ was roughly counted, the contents of each bucket remain in tact and will be taken to the Chase Bank in Mokena on Monday for "official counting" with the banks machines...then turned into larger bills for handing in the morning of the walk.
My sincere thanks to our participants....who once again were able to charm the $$ out of Mokena residents...

And Crix...
don't forget...
if you want to replace some of the velcro with a snap system...
lmk...
some night after work I can assist with that...
some of the arm pieces can really benefit from snaps rather than velcro..
I have many of the pieces already made up..

I've been wanting to upgrade a few connections to snaps too. Crix and myself just can't seem to keep our shoulder bells in position. Hopefully, snaps are the answer. But, what do I know, I am just chopped-liver!

Re: Mokena Donations for MSABC 10-1-11
Personally, I'm a fan of the velcro with the elastic straps. I feel like the snaps are just so permanent. For example, Rob bought his biker already pre-built. Well the previous owner used the snap system. Well he put snaps in the suit as well as on the belt to attach the detonator. In trying to remove the snaps, it left holes in the suit. If Rob tried to remove the snap from the back of the detonator, there is a good chance it will break. If you guys do do a strapping system party. I would like to also attend. I can show you how it can be done right. Rob's arms don't move at all and it's all will velcro. But of course, its up to you guys.

Re: Mokena Donations for MSABC 10-1-11
I have found that if you talk to 5 troopers...
you will get 5 answers on what works best...
one thing is certain..
if what you do have ain't workin..
then it is time to try something different till you find what works best for you..
I don't wear my Stormtrooper a real lot....
but there were times that I wore it more often...
and I have worn it often enough to where I can say that I am pretty confident on the systems in place...
I have never had any of the snap system come off as yet....
and trust me....with a few of the gigs I wore it to....
those snaps were put to the ultimate test...
as in falling down, getting up and running through the taaaaaall grass during filming of "Forgotten Realm"....
the principle is based on the female part of the snap being placed on a piece of the abs....and then that piece of abs is cemented into the plastic...
the other "half" of the snap system is the other part of the snap placed in a piece of nylon strapping sewed to elastic....so it has give...but no too much where it sags...
Yes....we can hopefully set a date if you guys want to "check it out"....
probably a Monday night?
