TK7537 Ready to re-enlist

Post by TK7537 »

Hi,

I'm TK-7537, or just Jim, formerly of the Ohio Garrison. I joined awhile ago (2003?), then took a job in a South Amnerican country, tried to start an outpost, failed miserably (did get to go to EPIII in armor - awesome experience) and have now returned to the USA (now in Champaign, IL). I have been out of 501rst for awhile so my membership is inactive but I would like to reenlist. Do we have an officer to help out with this? Also, on the flight back my armor broke (the strap connecting the breast and back plate) and my armor supplier (Movie FX) is gone with the wind, so I am looking for some armor help. Also just looking to get caught up with the rest of the fan base. I'm married to a woman from South America (who thinks this is cool but wouldn't wear a metal bikini even with a gun to her head) but we don't have kids (yet) besides me. I'm also a collector but only the EPIII stuff and newer. The vintage stuff didn't do anything for me, sorry. Ok that's it. Take care and nice to meet you all.

Oh wait! Sorry forgot. I have a complete (but broken) stromtrooper, 99% complete snowtrooper (need to finish greeblies and details), 60% finished pilot (need to buy chest armor, assemble chest box and repaint helmet), and an officer uniform (never wear it). Plan on doing some of the EPIII armor next year. I plan on going to Disney star wars weekends this coming year as well.

Yeah, I was around at that time that Ohio split off! In fact, I joined when the whole debate was raging about forming a new garrison. I didn't really see the purpose of creating several smaller garrisons at the time, but I was a noob so I didn't say anything. Indiana was the first to split off though, wasn't it? Well anyway thanks for the warm invite. Will keep an eye posted for events down here. Take care

Jim,

I've asked Ohio to transfer your records to the Midwest Garrison.

Once they are moved over, we can work on setting you back up w/ membership.

Remember though, because it has been a year or more since your last 501st event, you cannot be listed as "completly active", until the day of your first trooping event.

If you have any questions, please shoot me a PM or an email.

And... Welcome (back).

Hey Guys,

I’m sorry I haven’t been around for awhile. My wife and I had a very hectic two semesters, especially with her in nursing school and I charged with holding down the fort so she could study. Also, had some serious family issues that required me to put stuff on the back burner. Anyway, I plan on actually participating this summer. I almost made the best buy release of the clone wars but on the way over, I got a flat tire. By the time I got it fixed and got over there, the only thing I saw was a guy taking off his vader helmet then quickly walking to the back to change. It’s been that kind of year.

Anyway, this is very late but does anyone have the contact info for the contact for star wars weekends? Hopefully a ph #? We are going next month and I was interested in seeing if there was still time to participate.

I hope to participate in some local events this summer now that the semester from hell is over. Take care.

p.s. I was thinking of places to paint the ballon. I work on campus and will see if I can get access to the stock pavillon on campus. Also I know some people have horses at work so maybe someone has a barn. We'll see.

Hey Trooper,

sorry to hear about all the circumstances surrounding you lately. I'm just glad none of it was really really bad.

IN6951 is correct there is a troop in peoria next weekend. And keep looking at our boards, do you have access to the Event Planning Forums? PM me and let me know.

As for star wars weekends.. um.. i'll PM you on that one.

There is a link on the main board:

they set up a process so shoot them a PM and see if it's not too late.

Hey Jim,

Hopefully, you can troop with us soon. There's the Peoria event this weekend and Relay for Life is coming up. You can still sign up to be on the team and you don't have to attend the entire 24 hours. We're flexible. It's a very worthwhile event.

Hey guys,

thanks, actually I had a typo, I was actually in Orlando during the peoria event. I will post pictures from the Weekends in the cantina. It was great but I will never go to WDW over memorial weekend, way too hot! So I checked the calendar, I am going to shoot for making my Midwest debut for the Bartlet 4th of July Parade on Sunday the 5th. My dad's birthday is the 3rd so I will be I in my howmetown of Cincinnati saturday, so I can't make the peroia thing. I am hoping for an afternoon start so I can make the long drive. Take care.
