New guy just logged on for the forums. Interested in Star Wars costuming and costuming in general. Saw the 501st in San Diego last year and saw the Midwest Garrision at the 501st forum at MCCC and thought you guys were really cool. It will be at least a year before I'm able to get a TK or TC outfit together but I wanted to get to know people and gain knowledge from the community so I can get it mostly right the first time. Thanks for being here, and thanks for letting me join the forum.

Welcome to the world of costuming! You're off to a good start by joining here. There are a lot of threads on the forums and a lot of good people here that should be able to help you out.
Be kind, don't smoke, be prompt, smile a lot, eat sensibly, avoid cavities, mark your ballot carefully, avoid too much sun, mail overseas packages early, love all creatures above and below, insure your belongings, and try to keep the ball low

Hello AaronM.
There are a few members local to the Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti area, and an even larger number from the Metro Detroit area. When your ready to start putting together a costume, be sure to post and we can probably give you some help.
Also, be sure to check our calendar above, and try to come out to an event or two. Then you can meet some of us in person and see what we do first hand.
