It's about time! Hello!

Post by iKearstin »

Hello everyone!
My name is Kearstin, and I've finally had a minute to sit down at a computer and sign up for the boards! I've definitely gotten my hands on a bunch of you already. As Ms Jess Jupiter said, I already know Bollow, White Chocolate, Hamilton, Troyan, Szyndrowski, and Flores!

So here's the rundown...
I'm 24. I didn't start cosplaying until last year, and I didn't start sewing until this year in February! Although my highlights are definitely in the comic book arena, I think it's about time to branch off into the dark side, my friends. I definitely would like to bust out a Mara Jade, but being a trooper of some kind would rock as well. Photo bombs CONSTANTLY.

I've done about 12 costumes already on my completed list.
www.1womanshow.com
^ Even my own site, yo', I did all by myself!

Here's a tastey wastey:
Image

On a site note, I play a ridiculous amount of video game, I photo retouch, I'm a photographer, I model, I'm a pianist, drummer, wannabe singer. I'm almost 6ft tall and I used to have awesome long hair.

KTHX.
I hope to and can't wait to be apart of the MWG!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Service to the Empire, Kearstin!
Lord Vader will appreciate your inevitable sacrifice. :)

Any idea on what costume you want to tackle first?
Oh, and where's Mike?!

HAHA! Mike I think won't be joining any forums any time soon. His work blocks everything and 99% of the time when we're home, we'd rather be gaming than on a compy. HOWEVER, he might eventually join, as I think he has expressed interest in becoming a Storm Trooper.

I think it's a tie between Mara Jade, Storm Trooper or an Imperial Officer.
I want to hide my face but I don't at the same time! I think Mara Jade would be easy for me to put together, but the other two I'd nervous!

Both Mara and the officer are awesome costumes! Though invetibly, you will want the white plastic. And when that day comes I am happy to help out with TK informatio!

You may even want to start with a IC, which can atleast get you into the Legion and access to the boards.

Looking forward to see your Imperial costume take shape! Whatever comes first

^ Yeah I definitely feel I should bust out the trooper so I can be more of use for events and stuff. Although being a bodacious red head with a saber would be the shizz, it's almost if not at all as cool as trooper haha

About time! Welcome to boards!

Do both costumes! You know how it is, once you get one costume you're going to make 11 more anyway. So you have an idea of what you would be getting into, here's some quick links to the various detachments that cover each character.

Mara Jade:

Imperial Officers:

Our own KathyvanB's Officer tutorial:
viewtopic.php?t=2153&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Stormtroopers:
http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?s ... owforum=29

We've got a ton of troopers and officers here that can help with questions, advice, sources, etc. I think we had a few Mara's in progress out there too (Kim and Ashley?). Pick our brains!

I have a ton of costumes I still wanna do, too. I've gotten 5 together in the last 3 years. Tom has something like 11 and Phyllis has got to have near 20. Trust me, you are not alone in your obsession. We're not just a Garrison, we're also a support group.

Hi everyone, my name is Rob, and I'm addicted to dressing up in fantasy costumes.

"Hi Rob!"

I can relate, too, Kearstin. I got started on my second 501st costume about two weeks after my first troop. I've got #3 and #4 in the works, and next year, I'm looking at #5. Plus there's Age of Apocalypse Ice Man that I've got to build for 2011...

X-Wing Biggs is definitely getting bumped until 2012 at the earliest! :(

The upside to having a ton of different costumes is that it means you've got that much more reason to get out to troop more often. :)

A Powerful Black Widow she would be.

I would be remiss in my duties if I didn't put a plug in for Kearstin to become one of the Deadliest Dames in the GALaxy, The Black Widows. The female TIE Pilots of the Empire & Jolly Roger Squadron. White plastic is cool, but when you face the Black in Black with only your flight suit and armor between you and eternity the true nature of the Force will be revealed. Come to the Darkside of the Force, we have cookies.

Greetings Kearstin,

And welcome to the BEST darn GARRISON IN THE LEGION!

Obviously you've met many of our 'fine' troopers. Feel free to look around, ask questions, and get to know us. There are plenty of troopers here who would be more than willing to help you out. (As if you didn't guess with the links already posted) LOL.

Anyhoo, welcome aboard trooper! Hope we get to troop soon!
