Welcome recruit!
As someone who sat on his TK kit for longer than you've had yours, I can't urge you enough: bite the bullet and get started, trooper! I finally built my Stormtrooper using only my own hands, resources I found on the web, and a fair amount of trial and error. The biggest hurdle to get over was just deciding that I was going to DO IT. After you get over that, I think you'll find that it gets easier as you go along.
Joining this forum is a great first step in getting moving on it, since there are folks here who have built their own Republic Commandos in the past. (Unfortunately, I'm not one of them!) And the Midwest Garrison is made up of awesome, big-hearted, and helpful people. Really the best gang of friends a guy could hope for.
Other references are avialable to you, too - search the web for message boards and forums for people who have tips and tricks for putting your kit together. Talk to the guy who sold it to you (if you can), maybe he has references or instructions.
Can anyone direct Zairr to the detatchment that covers the Republic Commandos? Is it clonetroopers.net, or are the RC's part of the Rebel Legion?
Oh, and 138: Neil's armor party happened the weekend before WizardWorld, so that's over. They do pop up from time to time, though they've been fairly quiet for the last few months, since the summer is a busy trooping season for us.
At any rate, welcome aboard, darthzairr. Hope to see you in armor soon!

THANKS FOR THE CLARIFY B ..
I HAD A FEELING I WAS OFF
THE RC IS A GREAT COSTUME ...I HOPE YOU DECIDE TO PROCEED ..
THE BEST POLICY IS ,, RESEARCH,RESEARCH ,RESEARCH
WORK SLOW STEADY AND TAKE THE TIME TO ENJOY YOURSELF.
IF YOU GET FRUSTRATED OR NEED TO STEP AWAY FOR A BIT ...THEN DO SO .
THEY SAY HATE MAKES WASTE ... YOU BOUGHT THE KIT... I FEEL AT SOME POINT YOU WERE CONFIDENT IN YOUR ABILITY ...
I KNOW OPENING THE BOX IS SOMEWHAT DAUNTING.
AND IS A WHAT HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO MOMENT ..
BUT . I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT ..
HAVE FAITH KEEP YOUR CHIN UP ... ALWAYS ASK QUESTIONS AND MOSTLY JUST HAVE FUN WITH IT... BECAUSE WHEN YOU ARE DONE ....
AND ALL THAT HARD WORK IS OVER ... AND YOUR NERVOUSLY AWAITING YOUR FIRST TROOP .....IS WHEN YOU REALISE .
THIS IS THE MOST AWSOME THING IVE EVER DONE ... !!!!
AND THAT PROUD FEELING THAT YOU MADE IT ,,,,,, IS WORTH ALL THE ASSEMBLY ,MONEY ,TIME, AND CONFUSION YOU WENT THROUGH TO GET THERE ......... EVERY ONE IS HERE TO HELP YOU ,
YOU HAVE ONLY TO ASK ..

The wife and I were in your town just Monday. We're down in Forrest, IL Route 24 & Rt 47 if you want to work on your rig. I don't have any knowledge whatsoever on that costume but I'd be glad to help.
Served the Empire as Jolly Roger Squadron Detachment Leader 2005-2013
Now serves as Mentor, and Shadow Commander.

Oh, and to explain for 138, because he sometimes forgets around the new kids...
He's not yelling. His caps-lock is stuck ON when he posts from work.
Get back to work, James!

Welcome to the garrison. I claim Aroma Park as my hometown stomping ground! My sis is a tie fighter down in that area and the hubby and I are a small jog north. You're going to love the armor! It's the one thing the hubby has spent too much time and money on and it has all been worth it!
Be kind, don't smoke, be prompt, smile a lot, eat sensibly, avoid cavities, mark your ballot carefully, avoid too much sun, mail overseas packages early, love all creatures above and below, insure your belongings, and try to keep the ball low
