Hello All.

Post by mattbobmcd »

My name is Matt. I am a recent college grad from south of Chicago. I am working at a bank right now but looking for a good career to get into. I met some of the 501'st at the Chicago Comic-con while wearing a Jedi Luke costume, and I am now looking to get some classic TK armor started. I am happy to be joining all of you.

Hmmm.... If you left off the helmet, you could still go as Luke! Fastest allegiance change of costume ever!

If that is you in the pic, it was nice meeting you two at the mixer!

Greetings Matt,

Welcome aboard trooper! Glad you posted, i hadn't heard back from ya so I was getting ready to email you back.

There are plenty troopers here that have finished their Stormtrooper (TK as we call it) outfit. So, first thing we'll need to know is where in the chicagoland area are you at? this way troopers can see if you're near them.

as for armor (i'm surprised 8114 didn't say this already) www.whitearmor.net is a great place to start reading about the armor, i believe they have screen cap(tures), and methods on how to make it.

But nothing beats having hands on help from another trooper.

I should also let you know that we're working on Monthly armor parties I'm trying to get one going for next month so consider yourself invited once I get that together.

Troops, let's help out our Rookie here get him into some white armor. he does a great luke, but I'm sure his gf would totally dig him in real armor:)

Thanks for posting Matt, Looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Help is always appreciated no matter where it comes from!:)

as for "LOOK" (There goes the Tomglish again). Yeah we need to get him into armor, Manhattan is close to Joliet, just south of it actually. PQ Higgins has a Shadow trooper.

Matt, i'll shoot you a pm so we can figure out how close you are to acquire the armor buddy.

ah Tomglish again. For her armor, perhaps she could be one of the Deadliest Dames in the GALaxy, The Black Widows and be a TIE Pilot.

Thank you all for your greetings and input. Yes, I am in Manhattan. haha. And, my girlfriend has spent plenty of time looking at leiasmetalbikini.com I'm sure she will have the metal version someday (I will have to work on converting her to the dark side too though.) As for my armor, I have not been able to do much more than research. On whitearmor.net some recommend the FX armor (which I hear isn't the best) and others recommend injection molding (which I know nothing about.) So, I think I just need a little more guidance. :)

yeah, TK armor can be hard to wrap your head around, theres a lot of kits out there and none are really "bad" they each have their own pros and cons. The trick is finding which one works the best for you, and your needs.

If you wanna discuss, hit me up and I'll help you however I can.
