Doin' it Right
...Something I never do. So, guess I should go through the official channels here....
Yo. I'm Karin (Caer on Mando Mercs), and I'm a Vhonte/custom Femmando (the difference is whenever my shoulder armor decides to stay on). I trooped with you lot at Wizard World and had a ball. Totally looking forwards to hanging out with you guys 'till you get sick of me.
I am doing a cannon character, and it's currently under construction, but it might take up to and over a year (yikes!) 'till it's ready 'cause it needs custom head-tails, and I've never done anything like that before.
Mostly though, I'm going to be in Femmando gear. Either my already-completed (though now under repair) red gear, or a new custom in the sketching/development stage right now. Being a boobtrooper is fun.

Nice ponytails
Hi Karin,
I thought that your ponytails were part of the costume when I first saw you at the WW Con. Then when we were talking in front of the booth I realized they were real.
Not too many ladies out there sporting long hair. I think it adds a cool dimension to your costume.
Now, I'm new too so I don't know. Can you troop with MWG with a non canon, not official costume or will the costume police send the shadow troopers after you? Perhaps this could be explained by someone in the know.

Re: Nice ponytails
ultimately, it depends on the event. some events are canon costumes only, most are pretty open.wooshprez wrote: Now, I'm new too so I don't know. Karin,
Welcom aboard Trooper! great to have you come on the boards. curious to know though, what character are you creating that might take you well over a year? there are a number of troopers that might be able to help you reduce that time frame.
Let us know, we are all a helpful bunch!
otherwise, I hope we can troop again soon. and i don't think you can make anyone 'sick' of you

Awesome, thanks guys!
Let's see, excitable, bratty side kick? Yeah. I'm doing an Ahsoka build. I was going to keep it under wraps until I had a big part done, but given that the most distinguishing trait is the part that I have NO experience with making, and I want to do something cleaner looking than what I've seen on non-Disney costumes, I'd better fess up and beg for tips.
Plus, you and the Anakins were so awesome I wanted an excuse to hang out.

Yo River! Actually, you might think this was funny. First I was like "I want a cannon character, but I don't really wanna be one of a million Leias or whatever, and I HATE hair dye", then I was thinking about characters who matched my personality, and compared facial features. Slightly snubbed nose, jutting chin, blue eyes....River wrote:Karin,
