A Possible Chic in Armor?

Post by Zombie_Bunny »

Hi everyone! My name is Janine and I have met a few of you guys before. I am TD-8310, aka Vadersblade, Aka Rob's GF. I painted his entire costume and modded his biker scout. It was a lot of fun. Not to mention I got to wear parts of the Biker Scout costume to Wizard World this year. I am really interested in getting my own armor. I would prefer a boob trooper, but I am picky as to how the chest piece looks. I really want mandalorian armor. I am just saying hey, and hopefully someday, you'll all get to see me in the pastic too.

The "Femme Troopers" aren't eligible for membership though, and there aren't a whole lot of events that we do where they'd be accepted.

That being said, they're around :) One of guys will be able to steer you in the right direction as far as obtaining the proper bits for them-I know the porno pumps are a big part of it, too  not just the chest plate.

Yeah I know that the femme troopers aren't allowed. That is why when it comes to events such as fundraisers, I could wear my boyfriends accurate costume. He has the TD and the TB. I just want something fun to wear. I was considering getting a slave leia costume, but the armor is fun! Not to mention in the Leia, I'd worry about the wind lifting up what little coverage I have.

I've never heard of the Black Widows. I'll have to look into that. But how would I go about buying armor that would fit me? My BF's armor is way to big for me. Would I have to buy a kit specially made for smaller people? That sounds pricey...

Scout have more fun than TIEs ;)
(not really, I'm just partial)
You'd get a lot of "female driver/tree" jokes, though.

I remember talking to you about the femme armor, etc. at the con, I just wanted to be absolutely sure you knew.

If you go the scout route, I can PM you all the info you'd need. The guy I usually suggest is fantastic and his stuff is just a tiny bit smaller (and better fitting for those of us with slender frames) than some of the other stuff. Really, it'll be a bit large for you, too, but trimming in some places will help with that plus once you have on the flight suit and the cummerbund, it'll bulk you out a tad.

Welcome Aboard Trooper!

FINALLY! LOL

Well Janine, it seems a few of the troopers are already lending you a hand. As for the Mandolorian's. I'd wait on that.

As you may have heard, Clone Wars Season 2 is going to have the Mando's in place. There is a group known as the Mando-Mercs. They 'were' 501st approved some time ago, but since the only mando's that were very visable were Boba and Jango, the group was no longer recognized.

Now that The Clone Wars is going to have them there's a good chance there will be at least 1 - 2 female Mando's. Hopefully the 501st will consider them and have them as 'approved' costumes.

As for Biker or Tie, well, that's really up to you. Most ladies prefer the biker becuase it's lighter and the helmet isn't as big.

however, if you go Tie you 'can' get a smaller helmet but you'll have the mod it.

Both costumes are very comfortable and easy to move around in. So I don't see where either one would be bad for you. There's also some other's you could consider but those are mainly soft costumes.

for a flight suit I have a seamstress who can make one for you and have it done in less than 2 weeks all you need to do is provide her the material. I have the patterns that I can send/give to you. They are also located on the JRS boards too. Either Biker or Tie mainly uses that flight suit.

Feel free to ask anyone of us we'll be more than happy to help any new recruit.

Aimee's right about the 'boob' trooper armor. Might want to wait to get your 501st designation then look into that one.

It was awesome trooping with you this past WW. hope we can troop again soon buddy!

Welcome to the MWG!

Check out the mand mercs here.

I love what you did to Rob's TD. I think what ever you do it will be great. Just take your time on checking out the mando, bicker, and tie. There is a female Tusken Raiders. 2 photos of one.

there are a LOT of female costumes (not so armored) but very fun costumes that you can find on the flagship eclipse boards .. :) (darth talon, asajj, mara, etc..) :)

Janine - You are a very cool person based on the couple of times we have chatted.... glad to have you aboard!

Jen is right, there are a lot of WICKED cool female outfits. I think the best, most elaborate is Boushh (technically a dude but looked upon as chick). I have always thought Mara Jade is a great costume too, and a lot cheaper!

You have lots of helpers here in the MWG, so I am sure you will be rolling before you know it.

All the best - Mike

Janine...welcome to the group. I definitely concur with Targ, you must become a black widow. Anyways when you figure out what direction to go in remember our Detachments are a great source of info. Glad to have you on board.

Well there's only one character that comes to mind with armor and sexy, but it'll be a huge challenge...

Well, I for one liked your FemScout armor at WizardWorld. :P While it's not acceptable for parades & fundraisers, it is good for cons & Halloween. I've even seen some femmed-up Imperial Officers. Whichever way you decide to go, it'll be easy enough to have a few alternate pieces to go back & forth between for Trooping & Femmed-Up versions.

Psht. Accurate costumes are boring.
If you ever wanna go through with a femmando, let me know, I'd be glad to lend my (limited) expertise.

...If it's not painfully obvious, I was the boob trooper femmando at Wizard World. One word: Mannequins. Such a great shortcut.

You guys are all SO helpful!! I just got back from Canada yesterday. Between my BF's birthday and the holiday season just around the corner, I'm limited with my funds.

I'll probably just get an armor that I find cheap and already pre-made. Then I can tweak it to my own size, ...hopefully. I'm at a toss up between the biker and the black widow. That way I can go screen accurate and "not so screen accurate." As soon as I can save up some money, I'll be PMing everyone!! :tacklehug:

Again thanks everyone!!
