seriously it sounds like your on the right track....... you've plenty of time...till you hit 18
re-search ,research, research learn all you can ..read up,join the boards .ask all the questions you can ...by the time your ready you will have vast knowledge of how things work ..whats good, and not so good...and what you want to build and how to get it done,, everything else will fall into place
and in the meantime you and your dad can always come out to parades or troops in the area...talk to folks check out some armor etc... every one is very helpful.
and i must say the best group of folks im privileged to have met!!!
we will be here waiting for you

i'm so far from normal.
and it's funny cause that's where i live!!!!

Hola Muchacho!TheSixHunter wrote:what do you need for the sandtrooper? i mean, the armor is still the same right? you just have to ad the backpack pouches and such, am i correct?
Thank you for joining the ranks of the MWG. I am also argentine and my family came from about 40 minutes outside of Beunos Aires. (one of the reasons I did Rex cuz of the colors

Anyway, 138 is correct, you are on the right path. Plus you got two troopers who are lending you their expertise and knowledge. Listen to them wisely. they will help. Also read up on the The White Armor.net forums. they are a plethora of information.
If I may, I would stay away from TD/Sandtrooper right now. it's enough that you're working on TK/Stormtrooper, to get caught up in the sandtrooper will take more time and a lot more money. (at least that's how it's been portrayed to me).
Plus when you're picking an armor, you'll get different opinions. Some people do have FX buckets and love them, i know some will say it's not accurate, but if you've got a 'big head' and some do, it may be your best option as TE or even AP is rather tight and small. and some people appreciate the extra room to add fans, a voice amp, etc. etc.
Think about what you want out of your armor, and think about the money and time you'll be spending making it. once you've got all the peices then we should discuss how you can get it together and see if someone near you can help you get it started.
There are a lot of us here willing to help, but the end decision is yours as to your armor choices.
Welcome aboard trooper!

Most guys let their TKs start to get scratchy and convert them to TDs once the battle damage reaches a certain stage. The ab plate, diamond knee plate, different hand backs, green flat eye lenses, most have the pauldron and backpack, extra ammo pouches, and above all: dirt!
Expense wise, it's not too hefty if you've already got the TK to use for it, but it's a lot more of an art form than it's given credit for sometimes. There are a few hundred TDs and a few hundred variations on "getting dirty".
Do your research. Talk to the other TDs. Hit the detachment, but start reading before you start posting. Most of the easy stuff you can discover for yourself. It's the fine tuning where you'd benefit most from talking to the TDs. Cool guys. <--blatant irony

TD...lets get the TK done first before anything...it is easy to modify it once you get the build complete, just leaving off the parts as TB 0101 said. These are the wise ones, to them you listen
Once you get to that point, you can then make the decision, and make sure once you start the build, do the helmet last, Tk's have a more level brow mostly, TD's maintain a higher brow. The brow is the black band on the top of the stormtrooper helmet.
Riv is definitly on the right track, there are a multitude of opinions around and in the end you do what is what you like the most and most comfortable for you.
Just with all the WWII weapons (and even props, ie Rebel Fleet trooper helmet) the pouches on the TD are MP 40 pouches, and some guys hide thier voice amps there, but sounds odd sometimes when the sound doesn't come from the head...but it's pretty darn cool! FX helmets allow more room for goodies, like Riv said, but as he put it, some folks find it un-screen accurate.
The last thing would be weathering it, which to sounds like the absolute best part (I love to paint miniatures [Warhammer 40K, Imperial Guard] the best part is weathering them.) But it also a hard part as well. There are some excellent Sandies in the MWG, Sands frequents the boards and he is a great source of advice and inspiration!

So far so good. I really liked the TE and the AP although they are a little expensive. I also heard from deckard that he is working on a new armor the Armor master which looks really cool so far. Anyway thank you all for welcoming me and guiding me into the right direction. If there are any gamers as myself you can add me on playstation (GamingLegacy) and we will play sometime as well

Great to hear Six! Grabing original TE is sure mighty fine, especially a lid. TM, or Trooper Master is one my to get list in the future to, after I do all the other planned costumes on the list
Just take your time and have patience, trust me, it will happen! By next year, you'll be rocking the suit and be happier than you've ever been before
I don't play PS3, but rather Xbox 360, and my live tag is stonewildman1 if any one is interested.
Six, keep us updated and ask those questions, we are here for you man.

hello again, long time no see. okay so i talked to ATA, deckard, mike gordon, and mark harrison. I am currently waiting up on deckard who is working on his "AM" armor. If that comes out good i will probably go with that or the FX. I love the TE and the APalthough they are quite expensive, so i if i get those, it must be a miracle
i would like to thaks you all for your support. I will keep you all updated on how my situation is coming along.
