Interested in Joining in Downers Grove

I've seen several appearances by the Midwest Garrison at the annual Thanksgiving Day Parades downtown and am interested in signing up! Unfortunately I am next to useless with my bare hands and am really intimidated about the costume build process. (Ideally, I think I'd like to go ANH StormTrooper or RTJ Biker Scout) Especially given my size, 6 foot 2, 245 lbs, are armored costumes the wrong way to start? I'd love to speak with someone about these thoughts.

All costumes can be scaled to size so whichever you choose will work.

We will have a booth at Brickworld in Schaumburg this weekend, June 14-15 and have people on site that can answer all your questions. If you can't make it, take a look at other events we have coming up and stop by one of them and we can explain the process to you and set you on the path.

Thanks for the response! Unfortunately, I am bedridden recovering from surgery and won't be able to make the event you mentioned but I will keep my eyes open for events once I am up and mobile.
