Hello - Sean from Orland Park, Illinois

Post by Xyphis »

Hello all :D

I was on my way to clicking on a $1599.99 PayPal button to get a pre-finished TK Armor set when I suddenly thought I should research it a bit first.

Most of the "welcomes" here seem to already have armor and be a part of the 501st so perhaps I am out of place, but any help in getting me toward my goal of an accurate ANH setup would be appreciated. I am 6'1" and 215lb so I am on the heavier side of the typical Death Star fodder I saw in the movie. This might be a bit of an issue as to what suit/helmet to get?

I'm already "use the search function"ing but not coming up with much.

Oh, I'm a physician in real life with enough free time on my hands that I might be able to get a project like this done......I hope :?

Thanx in advance for any and all help,

Sean

You'll probably want a set of AFX armor.
I believe it is the "largest" set out there.

And.. 1600 is too much.

If you're willing to throw about 10-12 hours of (easy) labor at the project,
you should be able to finish it (voice amp and all) for a little over half that amount.

It LIVES!

Amazing how topics come back from the dead sometimes.

Thank you both for posting. I may take you up on that Mokena/Orland connection. I could use all the help I can get. (PS - I was the quiet guy at the build party in Cal City. The guy that didn't speak "your language" of costuming  )

As to the $1600. That was with all the undergarments/guns/mikes/gloves/etc. While not a great deal, I find myself in the knowledge that I will probably spend near that amount (thankfully with better armor and accessories thanx to all of you)

As of now, I have purchased most of the "extras". Just waiting on my RT-Mod to be made and shipped.

Time to work on the E-11 8)
