Re: Help for Easy Helmet Assembly?
I wouldn't put a bead on the outside of the seam after already assembling it. Remember that the ABS glue melts the plastics together. You don't want melted ABS showing on the outside of your helmet!
Jim - TK159
....................................................................................

"Did you feel a great disturbance in the force? Just a consideration:

I assembled the entire helmet w/ hot glue.
If any part of it ever becomes damaged, cracked, broken or needs to be replaced or modified, I won't have to replace the entire helmet. Just peel the glue and the whole thing can be disassembled.

Well first I assume you have the whole bucket taped together and know it fits well

Put a ring of the ABS glue inside the helmet halfs about a quarter of an inch below the edge, NOT on the dome!!!, as you press the dome into the helmet this will push the excess glue towards the inside of the helment and out of view. To apply the glue try a smaller sized paint brush (it will be destroyed) as to not be sloppy, plumbers "flux" brushes are cheap and work well with the ABS glue. If you put it on the dome as you push the dome in it will force the glue up towards the outside of the helmet and then you have some issues with viewable surface being destroyed by the glue.

If you are worried about the seam breaking from use, take more ABS glue on the inside of the helmet and put a layer all over the seam, but make sure it doesn't creap up the crack to the outside, it other works place the helmet rightside up when it drys rather then upside down, so any drips are in the inside.

Then wait a few days before putting that bad boy on, unless you like to fly
