Re: ANOVOS TK ARMOR introduction workshop
I'm out. There are several events that day to include the Family Fun Fest In Joliet from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Then Joe Orlando's Charity event in New Lenox from 5:00 PM until end. There are a couple of other events that day as well.

If it's not too late to sign up, I'd like to attend with my husband. He'll be helping me with my armor.

Excited for this workshop this weekend!

Re: ANOVOS TK ARMOR introduction workshop
I notice that there are two libraries in Joliet. The "main" library on N Ottawa and another library on Black Road.
Re: ANOVOS TK ARMOR introduction workshop
Good point...I assumed it was main library...but you know assumptions...
*amended...route66..that be the main

I may join you and sit in a corner with a certain costume pattern and trace it for you...
I will be in the area at an urban farm nearby so I am going to plan on stopping by the workshop..

Re: ANOVOS TK ARMOR introduction workshop
Agreed! Great workshop Steve! Thanks for taking the time out of your weekend for a really informative session.
Mike... I'm the guy working on the TK for his daughter, the plan is to do the suit pepakura and then to bondo/resin it, but
still trying to track down good tk suit pepakura files though, you find any holler
Again..awesome to finally meet you Steve and thanks for all the help

Re: ANOVOS TK ARMOR introduction workshop
I really enjoyed the workshop. Thanks for the effort, Steve! It really is appreciated. Just an FYI, though. I know that you mentioned that the kit is PVC, but this was pulled from the Anovos FAQ page.
"What is the thickness of material?
The armor pieces will be vacuum-formed from a range of .060" (thinner) to .090” (thicker) ABS. Thinner ABS will be used for detailed parts (such as the "ab button" plate) and thicker ABS will be used for parts that need reinforcement and greater durability.
Note: Due to customer demand and volume purchasing, our production team has elected to go back to ABS instead of PVC."

Re: ANOVOS TK ARMOR introduction workshop
Dang it, I wish I could have come down for this. I'm going to need to follow whatever guides I can get on getting this puppy together.
I'm an independent filmmaker and still cleaning up production messes from the Sundance 48hr Film Festival last weekend;just couldn't break away.
The picture of the formed molds looks intimidating.
Looks like I'll need a rivet gun and some curved scissors for sure. My Dremel will be getting quite the workout.

Re: ANOVOS TK ARMOR introduction workshop
OK so this is like the 4th time they have gone back and forth in regards to the material they are using. I do think it is smart to use thinner ABS for parts that require more detail but I can only think of a very small amount and I hope they can keep the color the same.
Anyway, thank you to all who attended last Saturday's workshop. It was truly a pleasure to see some old friends and some new faces. New faces are our future!!
If the southern Garrison members would be interested in the same program being presented there, please let me know soon. The armor set I have is on loan and I cannot guarantee for how long!
