New Armor in the Works
Let me start out first by saying I have not abandoned the Chewie build. That will be worked on extensively over the winter when I'm sitting on my butt at home. I have forever been in search of something new that will allow me to make events that I'd love to, but where Vader is already taken. After all, as in Highlander is true with Vader; There can be only one! Anyways, armor for someone who is 6'8" is kind of a PITA! TK, Clones, etc.. just don't work... well they would...but I'd have to think that all of the exposed undersuit would look ridiculous! So, I found an incredible deal on the legion boards and scored this for very little...I saved it from going to fleabay which is cool. I've always loved the Snowtrooper and I've seen photos of the armor on a few who are over 6'6" and it looks good. God help the shorter Vader's out there when this is done!
I'm thrilled to have another project to work on. I really want to do the Thanksgiving Parade again this year....so this will be the suit I'll be wearing...unless we need a Vader for that one!

Haha! I think that's about all of them!jweger77 wrote:God help the shorter Vader's out there when this is done!
Great to see you've found a non-face suit to have as a backup to Tall Vader! Hopefully, you'll be able to make it out more often with it!
But don't you lose steam on Chewie, though! We still could really use a walking carpet around here!

I promise I'll keep going on Chewie! No problem there. I'm hoping to get this one done fairly quickly. Honestly, if I had the time to spend three full days on it..I could probably get it done. We shall see!

Re: New Armor in the Works
Okay...scored the mukluks on ebay in Canada....those should be coming eventually. My armor kit should ship out today or tomorrow. I hit Joann's yesterday to pick up the fabric for the soft parts. Kind of funny, the lady there remembered me from when I came in to buy 16 yards of fabric for Vader. She wanted to see how that turned out and I showed her the youtube video of last years Thanksgiving Parade. She was totally blown away. She asked if I make costumes professionally and about the legion and she was totally impressed with everything that we do...
So, I'll be spending part of the weekend working on soft parts and gathering the other materials needed to assemble. I'm going to kick this one's butt quick! We'll see how it goes!

Awesome!! It's a good idea to get a secondary costume for when you can't or dont want to do Vader.

Re: New Armor in the Works
Well I'm pretty much done. Just have some more weathering to do. I'm also switching out the lousy cowl material as well. That's why there's no material at the back of the helmet. I'm also going to move the backpack up slightly. After I do these things I'll be submitting this for approval. Feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
