lol...Yes...Javier...I have been a member of the MWG since I completed my Imperial Officer... But even before I finished it...I still attended many MWG events as a Jedi...and actually...still wear my Jedi costume a lot...it is still my favorite....so...I guess I have been a member of the MWG since Feb of last year?....something like that.... I have a seamstress friend doing the sewing for me, then I'm finding then accessories like boots and a wig myself. "I'm not a freak; I'm a prototype."

...and I had a tailor make the jacket....the jacket is a real challenge...and at the time I wanted to have this costume, I didn't have enough experience under my belt....I would still be intimidated to take the jacket on..... Hey i have a question, In thinking about the fabric color i decided to look through my own stuff to see if i had anyclothing close to the color well i found these dress pants that do a funny little trick with light <a href="http://img425.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... <img src="http://img425.imageshack.us/img425/5316 ... </a> -no flash <a href="http://img425.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... <img src="http://img425.imageshack.us/img425/9414 ... </a> -with flash my question is, would this color make a good officer color if i can match it?

Are those kind of a kahki? Star WArs OT Movie canon Imperial Officers wear: -black -grey -olive-gray Expanded Universe: -white -red .............I was looking at fabrics at JoAnn today and may have found a nearly perfect OT olive-grey fabric. Not like I need to or want to make one of those anytime soon, but it was certainly tempting.

If you have the 3 3/4" Power of the Force Tarkin figure, that color is nearly identical to the color of the screen-used uniform that was displayed inthe Magic of Myth exhibition.

well i have the material, but i have a question, for the front flap could you tell me how long it is compared to the collar hole width (ie one half the lenght...) that way i can calculate the dimensions for mine

Good Question! I had to go & measure ours..................... finished = exactly 1/2 On my husband's FINISHED uniform shoulder seam to collar = 6 inches with the width of the over lay at that seam being 3" (both sides) On my FINISHED uniform shoulder seam to collar = 7 inches with the width of the over lay at that seam being 3 1/2" (both sides) Make sure you make accomodations for ALL seam allowances when you draft your pattern.

heres one more question: How does the bottom width of the front flap compare with hmmm the width of the neckhole forgot that one last night, that should give me the last bit of info to draw up the dimensions of my "finished flap" then i can add seam allowances

At the widest part of the top of the front flap, my husband's uniform is 10 3/8" at the bottom of the front flap it is 7" (finished measurement) The neck opening is about 5 1/4" across, but that is on the hanger. The front flap of my uniform is 12" at the top and 10 1/2" at the bottom. Interesting. I did have to 'twist' the proportions of the jacket when I made it for me. I hadn't ever realized there was that big of a differece there. It kind of makes sense, because I am forcing 2 dimentional fabric to cover a different topography on me. This is probably the proof one needs to take the advice in making a muslin mock-up of the jacket. I hadn't even realized that I was making that adjustment to mine --- I was going by what looked visually correct. This is also the reason why these uniforms need to be made / built / fitted to the wearer. Everyone is shaped a little differently & duct tape won't fix those variations.

I tried to find the simplicity pattern #7274 with no luck. It's like the pattern was discontinued or seasonal? I can't even find it on the simplicity site or ebay. I guess I have no choice but to try the mccall's pattern.
