Aerator Speakers...speakers are in.

Post by terrell78 »

OK gang here are all the details about the new aerator speakers I'm able to get.

They are slightly smaller than the 20mm speakers so they should fit the Hova-Mix aerators (I asked Mike TK1536 about this since he has a nice Hova-Mix speaker tutorial on his site).

They have 33% more nominal and 25% more max wattage over the "other" speakers, so they will be louder. They also have a tighter frequency range so hopefully there will be less feedback issues.

The cost is $14 per set and $2 shipping anywhere in the US, compared to the Miniature Locomotive shop which charges $16 plus $7 for shipping, or ebay where they sell for $19 and $5 shipping.

Here is the kicker. They are so new I have to purchase a distributor quantity to get them. Which means of the 900 ready to ship I have to buy 50 speakers. So please spread to word so I can get 20 or so interested people to cover the 24 sets I have to move.

These are brand new speakers right off the line so I can't make any guarentees about quality other than they are made by a reputable company, and comparisons are based on actual spec. sheets.

Thanks
Terrell

How big are these speakers overall? I am looking for ones that could fit into my chest box and take up less room than the Radio Shack amped speaker. Depending on the size, I might even try to get creative on mounting locations.

These are about the size of 3 pennys stacked. As for using them on a Vader costme I can also get 30, 40, and 50mm speakers that have more power and don't require a minimum order for about the same price.

I'll let everyone know when I get enough interest to place the order. I've also posted this over at White Armor and have gotten some interest as well.

Thanks everyone for the great response. We've got 14 sets spoken for. Still need a few more interested people before I can place the order.

If anyone knows someone who might be interested please contact them. Also if one person could post a link or the first post on the 501st forums, that would be great (since I'm not a TK yet....).

Thanks

A big thanks goes out to Tony TK/TD-4063. He took an inside measurment of the hovi-mix aerator with a caliper and these speakers will fit, but just barely.

I'm sure you could easily get up to the 50 orders needed if you posted over on the main forums. This sounds like an awesome mod for helmets.

Just waiting on them to come in. The distributor ships very quickly, it's just how fast the manufacture ships to the distributor, since it's a special order. I'm hoping guessing Monday-ish.
