Local place to buy Jackboots?

My TIE helm and armor finally arrived. Have gloves and blinky kit from Targ on order. Have all the materials needed to do my own belt.

So that leaves....... BOOTS!

I hate to buy the boots online since I really want to make sure they fit right and are comfortable. Anybody have any reccs for local (greater Chicago area) places to find 501st kosher black jackboots for a TIE costume?

I would ask Targ. I ordered my Engineer boots from a website and they were great. Targ may know of a local place. I know I went all over trying to find them, including a motorcycle store that had a ton of boots but I had no luck. That was several years ago though. With my boots I just had to have the one buckle removed and it was good.

You're really not going to find a local retailer for jack boots. You can probably find engineer style motorcycle boots that you can mod somewhere though.

took me 3 tries to get a boot that was acceptible
i went with the peble grain repro ....i will search for the link ?? although that pc is gone i may be able to locate it??

First pair was a biker style boot , kept for my heavy gunner . 2nd i sold on fourum and last set was perfect still use them for both tie- gunner - and could do crew but i dont

There's an Army Surplus place near me (about 89th and Harlem). They had some Jackboots on the shelf last time Lance and I were there.

I bought mine online. This company's sizes are true to size. Usually if you buy jack boots that are used German boots you needed to buy one size larger and your actual size. Not with this place. I'd order a 9.5. These are top quality boots too. Leater outside with a leather liner inside.
