thinking of doing a Royal Guard

I was thinking about doing a Royal Guard. I dont want to make the same mistake I did with my X-wing, buying half the stuff before I realize it wouldnt pass membership. so I want to do lots of research. such as armor or no armor, stuff like that. I wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction.

Let me know if you are looking for a good Don Post helmet. I have one sitting on a shelf and I doubt I will ever be using it.
