On Saturday June 29th, we were given the exclusive honor to attend and participate at the annual Navy Pier: Pride at The Pier. This is an invite only moment and a huge impact for us to spread our support to the pride community. MANY people were shocked and amazed to see us attend one of these pride events, asking us questions, taking photo ops, and even receiving ‘FREE HUGS’.
I am beyond grateful of these individuals who took time to brave the downtown Chicago traffic to get to Navy Pier and be able to attend this very important event. Many members really pushed themselves in the hot Chicago temperatures but we were all safe and hydrated.
To be asked to be at this event is a dream milestone for our organizations. This being our inaugural Pride at the Pier event, we learned many things and will make next year’s event even better!!!
I do want to thank EVERYONE who attended. Your presence really did mean a lot to so many in the pride community. Thank you all for taking the time and participating.
