Comments: The Costco Lurie Children’s Hospital Fundraiser is a month-long campaign that Costco runs in its stores. During the month of May, the stores take donations at the registers to collect funds to donate to Lurie Children’s Hospital. After last year’s success, we were contacted again to help raise funds during the month.
Costco was, once again, very accommodating to us and very happy that we were able to make it out. We relocated our troop space past the register exit, across from the food court. This worked much better this year. We also patrolled the store a bit for random photo ops.
I utilized our own collection bucket this year for photos, and campaigned for ourselves. We were able to raise a total of $1710 for the two days we were in attendance for photos. The entire campaign raised an impressive $117,000 in the Naperville location alone, and $1.7M nationally. As always, everyone did a great job, and Costco management loved us. We can expect this to become a regular May occurrence.
