On February 13th, 2017, the Northwestern Medicine at Central DuPage Hospital Child Life Visits also known as CDH Tour of Duty 2017 had visit #1. This is the third year for the Midwest Garrison to make bi-monthly visits to the hospital as well as be included at the annual picnic in July.
Two great stories from this troop.
1) Little Jovi was overheard telling her Grandmother "They really are real!" She was all smiles and full of excitement.
2) The youngster in the hospital bed received great news the day of our visit. His father told us our visit was the icing on the cake to what had already been an awesome day of great news! The family had found out a few hours before
we arrived that their son was 100% Cancer Free! I don't think there was a dry eye in the room.
These are only a few great examples of why many of the troopers in the Midwest Garrison have joined the ranks of the 501st. We are the Bad Guys Doing Good!
I personally would like to thank the following troopers for taking time out of their busy days to put smiles on everyone's face and be a happy distraction from whatever the reason is for visiting the hospital.
