Summary write up:
In July, local stand-up comedians Mike Bobbitt and P.J. Butland found out about Katie and the 501st's efforts to help her and the Johnson family. Mike subsequently found his way to Michigan Squad and we worked together to set up events to raise money for Katie.

Joey's Comedy Club in Livonia, MI has a program called "Comedy for a Cause" where local organizations can use the club as a fundraiser with the participation of local comedians. In cooperation with Mike, P.J., and two of their colleagues, the Michigan Squad set August 23rd for the show, and added two simultaneous in-store appearances at local Comic City locations to sell tickets to the show and generate some pre-show buzz & attention for Katie.

However, the events were too late for Katie who passed away the Tuesday before the in-store appearances. Nevertheless, the shows went on! The focus of the events became Make-A-Wish Foundation instead, in honor of Katie's memory.

On Saturday the 13th, Michigan Squad appeared simultaneously at two Comic City locations. Each location was staffed by Darth Vader and a pair of Stormtroopers, with Princess Leia appearing at the Novi location. The two appearances which offered photographs in exchange for donations generated nearly $250 in two hours.

Tuesday the 23rd was the main show. Comedians for the night included Mike, P.J., Scott Loftis, and Corey Hall. Ticket sales generated almost $250, which was impressive for a Tuesday night local comedy show. Additional donations brought the total to $506.07.
