IL-Rockford-Festival of Fantasy 10-27-07

Post by tk1055 »

I finally got a chance to report on this event.
Participants:
tk1055 Erik Moan
sl5420 Kate Moan
r2-s5 Darryl Sorensen and droid

non-member participants:
Hopeful Recruit
Mitch Bailey

This was a very fun small event with probably 200 people tops. The kids were great - several were dressed as Vader. The parade was short and sweet - only three blocks. We were entertained by bagpipes playing the Star Wars theme. I would like to thank Darryl for bringing R2-S5 out I would also like to Hopeful and Mitch for helping out (we will have these to enlisted soon ) We have also been invited back for next year as well as asked to come out for two appearances at Lockwoods Haunted Hayride (More details to come on this one) .

Man, I had so much fun at this, despite almost decapitating everyone else with the saber
I think it was a good experience and an excellent character to play besides Batman.

I can't wait until I join up and can do this officially. Less than 5 months to go

That's great that you had a chance to join a member at an event - gives you quite a perspective what this is all about.

Looks like the event was well-received!

Well, I can always try to swing by and pick it up.

Do you remember who we were supposed to ask for?

Alrighty, I saved Erik the trouble and picked up the CD.

Here's just a taste of the 43 pics that were on it:

Erik is in the TK (duh), Kat is in the clone, Mitch is in the mado, Darryl is in the crewman, and I'm in the Nihilus.
It was amazing and I can't wait until my own costume is done.

I think it was early this past spring.
The FCBD at TisY was her first time in armor, so it was April-ish.....I think :?

I took the liberty of answering because Erik's been busy with work lately.
Hope you don't mind, bro.

If anyone wants the rest of the 43 pics, PM me you email address and I'll send them.

Not at Tim. Its been about a year now however we haven't submited it yet due to the belt being inaccurate. It also need some work on the knees and elbows. For some reason they just want to fall off  . Once I get it up to snuff I am going to get another set and become Ordo form the Republic Commando novels.

Yeah, I noticed the knees liked to fall at the FoF.

I looked around ebay and couldn't find another set of clone armor like hers, maybe the seler sold them all or they got pulled?

*sigh* I'm rambling, only been getting a few hours of sleep due to me having a cold than my folks getting it......no fun :(
