Mission Objective: To meet, greet and pose for photo's with the children of the Chicago area Empire.
Status: Accomplished.
Long lines of kids and their parents wound around the Kid's department and into the main aisles of the store waiting to see the Star Wars characters. Thanks to the advertising done by the Special Events staff of Carson's, anticipation was running high as witnessed by many of the children wearing appropriate costumes and T-shirts.
To help ease crowd control, Imperial Officer Schph Gochi applied Imperial insignias (tattoos) to the children, identifying them as loyal members to the Emperor and Empire.
Gammorean Guard "Grunt" managed to intimidate most of the crowd until they realised he was nothing but a big ham. I think love was in the air as the chef giving the cooking demo's had her eye on him.
Rounding out the formation were three of the Empire's finest. I was just going to say one of the Empire's finest, but need to include the other two since they are the CO and XO of the Garrison (and I am not ready for a demotion, though I can't think of a position lower than a common Stormtrooper).
A generous donation of $500.00 was made to the Boys and Girls Club of Chicago in the Garrison/Legion's name.
Participating Midwest Garrison Members:
ID1951 Phyllis Schulte (Imperial Officer)
DZ5591 Jerry Trieber (Gammorrean Guard)
TB0101 Aimee Jorgensen (bikerscout)
TK9989 Kathy van Beuningen (stormtrooper)
TK321 Robb Roidt (stormtrooper)

We were so busy posing for photos at this evet we hardly had an opportubity to pse for any of our own shots. Phyllis took a few on her camera between the tons of kids eagerly waiting to be tattooed, I hope a couple of those turn out!
