As of right now it is in 737's garage.

It is an (ex) Kansas City squad car so it has all the options Elwood
spoke of in the film.

"It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks.."

It still has a few police officer items attached to the dash.
It also has the hole mount for a spotlight and you can see the rear window lights are still attached (and functional).

Took almost 3 years to find one at a "decent" price.

Thats the MONACO right?

Dude, Chunk and I are gonna have to take pics with it! I'll post the pic of me and him as Jake and Elwood later.

I notice you'll have the following things to do just from pics ....

Add spot light
paint and detail
remove side molding
remove rear bumper guards
add front push bar
remove hub caps

You going to add speaker on roof?

Make sure cig lighter DOES NOT WORK LOL

It is a Monaco and it does need all of the things you mentioned, plus a little more.

It has some nice sized rust patches.
Any auto body workers out there?

Not sure about a roof speaker, just yet.
The speaker replicas I've seen are pretty poor.
I'd like to figure out a way to make one that is accurate.
But that is a ways off.

The lighter does work, but just to be sure
I threw the pushbutton out the window.

Mr. 826.......

1st thing to check is the frame, floors and trunk before you do anything else. These items MUST be in solid condition before you do anything!

Once that's in good order, I would make sure the thing is roadworthy and safe....go through anything & everything mechanical.

After you've covered all those bases, then ya worry about fenders, doors etc.....tracking down sheetmetal is going to be tough, so you're going to have to fab up panels....do it right!

Good luck!

That's easy!! Just find a construction zone with bridges that lead to nowhere, rev it up, gun it and FLY!!! :rotflmao:

There is a vett dealership on RT 30 in Plainfield,IL that has a Blues Bros mobile with the speaker on top. The problem it is a newer model chevy . Maybe they would sell the speaker off the top for the right price ??
I think if you are going to do it then do like you did and find the right car to start with. Good job finding one . Does the grandma know it is missing from her garage yet ??

That guy in the mall has taken his car to a number of locations and filmed himself driving.

He now sells DVD's of the video he took.

Kind of stupid really as each copy of the DVD is a video record of him performing about 20 major traffic violations.

He rips across the grass on the rt12 on-ramp and drives right across the Daley Plazza up to the window.

It's roadworthy if only it didn't have those blaring yellow license plates.

Glad to see you bought a family-size car  Does 101 get to drive it too?!

Great find!

That's sweet, Damian! I know it's not the Mad Max car you've always dreamed of, but at least it's another famous movie car!!!

Talk to Tate about bodyshop places. He's got like 47 cars he's currently trying to buy or rebuild for the last couple years.
