Hello again,
How would you recommend dying these shoes black? (I can do the rubber parts fine.)

I cannot find a black pair in existence...and thus will be willing to try to dye these. I need to apply shoe stripper, but any dyes in particular for these? I need your help!

How do you dye leather shoes?
Many bothans died to bring you this post...the tearing of ligaments and almost the loss of a TK's finger...
Re: How do you dye leather shoes?
Tandy Leather has leather dye and they can give you good pointers on how to do it... but the best way would be to take them to a shoe repair shop and have them dye the shoes for you.
I prefer emoticons to the written word, and if you disagree....

I thought about that. I was at Tandy Leather factory today.
TKBondservant over at Whitearmor gave me some pointers on doing it myself...since those guys like to do the chealsea boots of the TK. I should've asked today. I am going to use Angelus leather paint and am pretty excited for the result.

Trying to remember if I have seen the pictures of you having done this, but for future reference if you have, Nu-Life. That is what I used to turn my left Harley shoe from black to red, without having to strip the color at all.

Re: How do you dye leather shoes?
I started with some used brown boots I found on ebay and stripped and painted them to match my red armor.
I used acetone to strip the boots, let it air for a day, then painted it with red boot/shoe paint I got at a local shoe repair shop. I repaint them about once/year.
Wear rubber gloves and do the acetone work away from flames (pilot lights, etc), preferably outside if you can.

I did the conversion on my build thread for Daft. Thanks for the input!
All I have to figure out is a clear coat that doesn't rub RIGHT off right away once contact is made...
