The WUMB forum is shut down!

Post by Imperial1971 »

For all you comic / cosplay folks that have been on the Wizard Universe Message Board over the years, you will be interested to know it's kaput!

I don't know if it's permanent or temporary, but it's gone.

Many of the posts over the past year or so seem to have been negative towards the Wizard Corporation, so maybe they realized the forum was hurting more than helping. They had a WW Chicago complaint thread that got so massive and angry they deleted it a few months ago.

RUMOR ALERT: Because of the negative press and C2E2, WW Chicago 2010 will be cancelled. Just a rumor at this point... makes sense though.

Its an extremely good possibility that WWC is dead. The major publishers have all but removed their presence from all Wizard shows, and a lot of people in the comic industry hate Wizard and now that their stranglehold on the industry both with real competition in the convention side and the slow death on the printing side, you're looking at the falling of Shamus' empire.

Well if nothing, if it wasn't for Wizard (well Toyfare to be accurate) we wouldn't have Robot Chicken, so its not all bad.

I think there are a couple MWG folks who are still owed the crud WW was supposed to give them in their goody bags or something from back in August! WTF?

Funny side note: I was at Dragon Con and I overheard folks talking and pointing to a dude at the bar "Hey! That's f'ing SPAT from Wizard! That a-hole!"

I hope nobody ever says that about the CYPHAN guy... :ohboy:

MB (who's gonna say "they already ARE Mike!" first? Aimee? River?)

Wizard World Chicago seems awfully popular and well attended for them to cancel it.

Who is 'SPAT' anyway?

Ask that in the 501st only area and I'll answer as such negativity shouldn't be posted in public.
