My Next Project...Mad Hatter - Halloween 2010 (NEARLY DONE!)

after two hours of me and my mom using her sewing machine, and her "homemade" attachments we rigged up, I now have color.

:lol

Ran out of a few colors, but I like them.

Most, if not all of them are even vintage thread.

The peices of blue painters tape are the numbers, to make them easy to arrange and store in bags. :p

Didn't add the "o" for the toggle clasp yet...But here I am so far for the front. I couldn't get any pics to come out of me bum. I mean! Back! Yeah....Back.

Few things I still need to do. Cut a new chain that connects the front to back. Mine isn't big enough. Then, I need to cut some wire to connect the two strands of ball chain into one peice. I also need to add the single "connector link" that UM spotted. And I need to soak my poor hands!

Looks like your making good progress there Jodo....

I wanted to tell you that Wal-MArt has discontinued a lot of the lace that they carried...I had kept going back to see if I could find some like you had posted for refrence pictures and they had none at WalMart here.

JoAnns fabrics here had some but they wanted like a zillion dollars a yard...

Still yours looks good and I saw a display in the Wal-MArt for the DVD of Alice in Wonderland and he does have that belt on in the picture!

Yep, the 2nd hardest part is done, the bandolier. So I'm happy.

Overall, it took about 10 hours to make.

I need to replace the big chain in the back though with something else. But here's a picture of the bottom :

The one double chain needs to be wired together still, but it's essentialy done until I find a better suiting back chain. I've still got two whole bandoliers to make. So I need to find my chain soon.

Thanks for keeping me in mind for the lace still!

So I bought more chain....And my bandolier #1 is done. And now it's diffrent.

I came across your form postings on my hunt for ideas on my Mad Hatter costume and I have to say I am Impressed with your ingenuity and detail!!
I was wondering if you would be kind enough to share the name of the Vendor that you got your wig from? It is by far the best one I have seen yet!
And on the matter of Lace – I managed to get a great deal on some amazing Lace at my local Good Will – I bought a wedding dress for $9.

The wig is called a "Funny Guy Wig" and I do not believe they make them anymore. After I bought mine, I know an individual was selling one of his for $40+. You might check ebay,etc. That wig is TONS better than all the others if you can bypass the fact it's not as orange as the original.

Also, I received my custom hat from my friend Crystal today, she did an excellent job on it, and it looks fantastic.

I'll post pictures of it soon.

And my tailored coat should be here around the 9th.

Which will just leave me down :

and I still need to make the eyebrows as well.

She did an excellent job on it, deffintly my favorite hat I've seen.

As fer ze thimbles, one is blue, with gold accents, and then one is red and white. You can see 'em both here

Pre-Halloween WIP!

To do List :
Make gloves.
Add sleeve lace.
Add snap to close shirt up, lol.
Fix the pant leg bottoms and add the bell material.
Weather coat
Do something about the coat trim...

About ze coat trim. It would appear to my untrained eye to not be very good. Soooo....What do you guys think I should use to replace it/put over it/do something. It look like a freaking Sith Lord or something. :p

Wasn't fond of the movie, but the costumes were nice.

As for characters... I prefer Hatter from SyFy's Alice.
Now he is some nice eye-candy!

Just got back from a Halloween party I was invited to...And all the kids decides I was cool enough to get first place in the costume contest.

(My eyes are edited, turns out...I can't wear contacts.

Just messin' with ya.

Here's some pics from last night after several...several...hours. I'm in makeup right now, and I've already been to the fall festival and day time "kiddie parade". Taking an hour break, and then going back out to the big "night parade". Tomorrow...I'm sleeping.
