IL - Skokie - Nordstrom StrideRite shoes - Sat 12/4/10

Post by RileyBear »

First, this has been a heck of a week and I have not had a chance to get my pictures processed. I will get to that soon and post a link in this thread.

Okay, now for my first Mission Report ever...

I was a snowy, gray, dreary Saturday, but we made it and it was, IMHO, a good event.

Pam, the Stride Rite rep was fantastic! She and the department manager, Cody, were right on top of everything.

The kids and a great many adults LOVED the fact that we were there. Many of the kids were wide-eyed and refused to go anywhere near Jason, but Eric was there and he had a face so was more approachable. Jeff got the typical "Who is that?" a lot, but still had some recognition.

There was one boy who talked our ears off with his knowledge of Star Wars. It was precious. I even had a couple people give me their email addresses to get copies of the pictures.

Pam and Cody both told me that they appreciated the fact that I stayed in street clothes. It made it easier for them to approach me for questions and such. It also allowed me to take photos. Eric's mom was there with her camera as well. Those photos can be seen HERE.

In attendance were:
Jason Patterson, SL-1719 - Darth Vader
Jeff Baron, TI-9131 - TIE Pilot
Eric Pfeifer, SL-3667 - EpIII Anakin
Tonya Foust, TI-1574 - support/photos/coordinator
Ms. Pfeifer (Eric's mom) - photos/support

As I stated in the beginning of this post, I will get my photos processed soon and update this post or at least the thread with a link.

Thanks.
*note* Aimee (or whomever) please let me know if I did this right.

I will check with Pat on that. Also hoping to get my photos done this weekend.

I sent an email to Pam to check on whether a donation was (or will be) made.
I'll let you know what I hear back.
