I've got to ask... What are they planning to do with that giant "Star Wars" backdrop...?
I am not sure....but it was all made out of paper that was pieced together..., so I am sure when it was taken down it will get all torn apart...
but...to tell you the truth...I was looking at that and thought how great that backdrop was and how it might be something one could do in fabric and thought it might be a cool project to do. I plan to keep my eye out for black fabric...sometimes these on-line fabric stores have some sale fabric really cheap...like $1.99 a yard....and the Star Wars logo and the stars would be easily done in felt....no trim sewing required...but felt can get pricey.
I also spoke to these teachers over the course of the two days I was there. The one teacher who owns the collection is finishing up his "display room" in is basement and said that he is not inclinded to haul the stuff to the school next year. They still want to do this again next year and said that where the "museum" part of event is cool...it isn't the only draw....especially for the kids. They had tv's set up with some of the video games, the movies were playing in the gym....there were balloons made into lightsabers and there was a whole lot of lightsaber battling going on....they had legos set up on carpet on the floor and kids were building stuff.
Soooooooo...I said that if they did want to do it again next year and needed stuff for the "museum" part that I (and I am sure others) could contribute costumes and props to put on display...they have the stuff nicely behind ropes and older school kids watched the stuff all day...so it is for sure safe....nice little laid back event...LOTS of fun...and no stress....they were sooooo happy to have us for as many hours as we could give.
