IL-NORMAL-SAMS BLUE RAY EVENT - 9/17/11
members of the midwest garrison were invited to attend the normal il sams club event on 9/17/11
via : mary franklin of lucas film ltd.
in partnership with 20th century fox distribution's contact, corina jimenez
they requested 2 members of the 501st 's midwest garrisons contingent of stormtroopers to appear at the blue ray release event to be
scheduled at the normal Sam's Club store #4815 on saturday the 17th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm
as im local i did some wheeling and dealing and was able to get the day off and arrange for myself to coardinate the event ...
as this was my first attempt in doing so,, i was aided by our fine xo whinter TB-3127
MANY THANKS TO YOU CHERYL we couldnt have done it without your help
so i was trooper # 1 ~ james r noland -in my tie pilot TI-7696
i was also asisted by :
trooper # 2 ~ lisa schneider - in biker scout TB-4806
also her photographer husband rob schneider and their 2 boys
who are always a blast for me to hang out with ..lolol
we arrived on site and met in schuttle parking around 10:30
then we made our way in and met with our sams leasion jerimiah .. per instructions via electronics mnger joe -which i had spoken to at an earlier time ..
we also meet zak our sams photographer for the event..
then we were led to an upstairs locked facility for changeing and storage .. breaks etc ..
once we were in our imperial uniforms we headed down to the sales floor
and time flew by almost instantly ... sadly we trooped are 3hrs in what felt like light speed ....
we took pictures near the entry to the sams store in front of the blue ray display and a 50+ flat screen playing star wars
we took pictures with customers coming in to shop the store ....and once the photo's zack had taken, the photo dept developed said pics at no charge to customers .
and were available to be picked up in a fast 15-30 min time span .. they were seriously working back in the photo dept !!!
there was also a in house charity can for childrens miracle network hospitals ? i dont know the total raised as it was a sams store charity can
i did call again to thank them and to ask for a total (i knew thet phyllis would want to know ) faith the assit mnger to the store manager said she didnt know an exact ammount as she didnt handle that but she estimated it was over 75 and under 100 as they took the table down once more of the pics were picked up .. still not bad for less then 3 hrs
also for totalls the people at fox promised a combined donation of 300. 00 between the 2 of us - for the imperial walkers relay for life team .
zak estimated we took nearly 300 pics with patrons of the event and reg shoppers ..
i also want to thank lisa and her family for joining me for this event ..
it was spectactular .. also for rob for taking pics also so i would have theses to post for the mision report --- THANKS ROB -- YOU ROCK PAL !!!
once we were done ,, we moved upstairs to do our buckets on/off shots and to dress down to our civillian attire ..
which then we did some talking to our hosts etc...
and they treated us to refreshments and beverages at the sams eatery
we had a great time of food and conversation ....
and about 4 pm we headed for our homes ..
it was an excellent day of 501st fun and excitetment for all P.S. I WANT TO ALSO THANK MARK BERRY BH-4265 FOR ACTING AS STAND IN FOR THIS EVENT

This was so much fun! The 4 hours really did fly by.
Yes, my son likes pizza......
And, yes, my other son is a good kid, too. The third boy is a friend of ours (and is the son of the "lady" that had never seen Star Wars).
James did a great job coordinating this and Rob took some great pictures. Sam's Club was a gracious host.

I think the Fox one will be an "all in one" and will probably be part of what Brian is handling...
that is my guess...
If you ever find out the total $$ lmk...if not...
we will roll with your hours..

Sounds like a plan....
I'll do my best,
I've been thinking of calling jerimia and see if he can be the man on the inside .
Maybe get us a tottal ? Or a final. No go ?
