What a difference a day makes! The day before, we did a 2-hour Salvation Army Bell Ringing Troop in Algonquin where we had incredibly beautiful weather… Sunny and 50 degrees. But for this troop, a 2-hour Salvation Army Bell Ringing Troop at a Walgreens in Lake in the Hills, the weather wasn’t so cooperative; terribly cold, rainy and windy. However, even though the weather was miserable, the spirits were warm and bright.
Even with the weather being so icky, we still managed to get quite a few donations, and took several photos with passing patrons as well. I’ll be getting totals from the Salvation Army office sometime early this week.
Even with the terrible weather we still collected a TOTAL OF $103.17 !!
Many of our troopers present today came from quite a distance, and I really can’t thank them enough for making the trip. I hope they had as much fun as I did.
After our 2 hours out in the cold, it was time to head out to our next troop; the Salvation Army Toy Drive in the next town over!
