Walmart Super Center
1410 South Randall Road
Algonquin, IL 60102

This was a perfect day for a troop like this. The weather was close to 50 degrees and sunny. We started the day with a great breakfast at a local restaurant and then made our way to the Walmart in Algonquin. We suited up, divided up the Salvation Army aprons and pins among us, grabbed our kettle and made our way to our station at the front door.
We were there for 2 hours and encountered so many wonderful people. They were so excited to see us and so eager to donate to the cause. We had our picture taken with several people, including many of the Walmart employees. We even had a surprise visit by one of the folks from the Salvation Army office. She loved us so much that she asked if we would be able to stop by their Toy Drive the next day, in the next town over. Of course, we said yes. So as a result, we have another 2-hour Bell Ringing troop at another station tomorrow, and then we attend the Toy Drive immediately afterwards. This has turned out to be a busy weekend indeed. And lots of fun!
We ended up filling our kettle by the end of our shift. I don’t know how much we made yet, but I should know within a couple days. Until then, let’s see how much we can collect tomorrow at our next shift!
