I had an awesome time! We should try and get together more often on non-trooping weekends and do something like this when we can!

Guys, I'm failing to see how this photoshoot would qualify for the ToD.

speaking for myself...
and I am reasonably certain those who attended will agree...

TOD matters not...
this was great fun and I personally would not have missed it...
and look forward to the next one..
and really don't care if it counts for TOD or not..

I really don't care about a TOD credit either, but why would this not count? We've counted photoshoots before (R2 mailboxes). We've counted Garrison meetings and other events where there was no general public presence. Since the event was posted correctly on the boards, and the materials here are being used extensively for PR on facebook, I fail to see how this would not qualify :?:

There is a difference in legion wide activities (such as the R2 mailboxes, where members were asked to coordinate and shoot an image with these) and a group of members deciding to stage a photo shoot.
I'm not saying what you guys did didn't sound fun or didn't produce some stunning images. However, this was not requested. It does not promote SW locally or communally and I haven't seen anything about interaction with the public.
Most photo shoots do not count. The ones for Dave Dorman came to us as an official request.

Garrison meetings count as an encouragement for members to participate in them as well as their focus being on the workings and projects running and being initiated in the unit. They certainly don't have to, and if you have an issue with it, Rob, we can look into changing how we do that.
Armor builds and workshops also do not count, and have not for many years-per legion HQ.

If you'd like I can run this by command and the council. As it is, though, I would still say it does not count.

What you do with the photos, promotion, is a fantastic idea. But please keep in mind that the hours of hard work that go into prepping PR materials also do not count for the ToD.

Like I said, I don't care that much. The TOD is much more complicated and argued about than it needs to be.
But please keep in mind that the hours of hard work that go into prepping PR materials also do not count for the ToD.
You don't have to tell me. Just interacting on Facebook has been countless hours over the past year. I can't imagine all the time Brian and Remo invest into things.
