IN - Hammond - FOP Familyfest - 8-24-13

On Aug 24th, Dadvader (Vader), his son Conner(Luke), Conner’s friend(snowtrooper), my son Brandon(TK), and myself(Fett) trooped an impromptu troop at the Hammond Police Department’s 3rd annual family picnic. This was our second troop of the day. This picnic has gained momentum and is getting larger. Paid through business sponsors, it’s a chance for us officers and our families to get together. This year included a laser tag field, hamster ball races, inflatables, photo booth, fireworks and more. The guys I work with have seen pictures and have heard the trooping stories, but have never seen the 501st in person, and were excited to hear we were coming. The DJ played the Imperial March as we entered and were swarmed by about 100 people. We took photos for about an hour, a real quick troop. Always a good time to see the smiling faces in both the kids and the adults (especially when you know them). Thanks again Rich and crew for the last minute notice.
