We were asked by the Bartlett Public Library to come out for their Literacy Night / Family Star Wars night. The contact was a little apprehensive at first about whether or not kids would be afraid of the masked characters. Once we arrived, though, those fears were put to rest. They had a large room all set up with many different Star Wars themed activities: Cut Out A Stormtrooper Mask, Fingerprint Star Wars Characters, Make a Star Wars Magnet, Star Wars Scrabble, Star Wars Matching, and one or two more I cant think of right now. We entered the room a little after the start and posed for pictures with the families, and watched and participated in some of the activities. We had Stormtrooper Story Time, where I read a space themed story to the kids. After about an hour of mingling, the library staff wanted to take us around the library and pose us in different spots, so we obliged. We then went back in to say goodbye to the kids, and suited down. Overall, it was a HUGE success and the library was very grateful. There was a reporter from the local paper, the Examiner, on hand taking pictures and making notes. I have contacted them to get a few copies of the article, so we will see. A special thanks to Kevin and Jose who were very last minute fill ins when I had a cancellation. I am very grateful.
