The weather was perfect for the second annual Star wars day at the Zoo, we had 16 costumed members from MWG, Mercs, and Rebels. We had Blast-a-Trooper set up and raised $147 (10 trooper HRs) and the Mercs raised another $75 with "Bounty Hunt" ! The money raised was donated to the Miller Park Zoological Society. The estimated attendance for the day was 1138!
We added a little something very special to this years event.
We were contacted by a family that ended up surprising their kids with tickets to Star Wars Weekends at Disney World. The family hasn't been able to afford a vacation for their kids for 14 years and the Midwest Garrison and Nexu Clan made the "big reveal" a memorable one. For the reveal Mav and Boba captured the Father and placed him in Jail, after a few Seconds Boba said " he's not the bounty, HE put out the BOUNTY!" Mav and Boba start laying out hints about Disney and finally tell the family that they are going to Disney! Their son didn't fully grasp the fact that they were actually going to Disney until the ride home where he totally lost it, their daughter had tears of joy from the news. The Father had been telling his son that he had hired the best bounty hunter in the galaxy to track down the perfect vacation for them, I say MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Thank you Casey's for being part of such a special moment
