BiPolar Comics (Free Comic Book Day) – Algonquin, IL
This was Troop #2 of 3 for the day for myself and Kevin Skiera.
This was a great troop! We met some great people and made several new friends. BiPolar Comics has only been around for about 7 months, but they already have a nice sized customer base. It’s a great little store.
Kevin and I had just come from our first troop of the day (the Crystal Lake Library), so it didn’t take us long to get re-suited up in the parking lot. We met up with the owner of the store, took some photos with some of the patrons, and then decided to go out in front of the store to see if we could draw some more attention. It was on a busy street (Algonquin Road), so we definitely succeeded on getting A LOT of attention; and almost caused a few accidents. The store owner had an absolute blast with us out in front of the store. Without us even saying anything, he got down on his knees, put his hands up behind his head, and started yelling out at the passing cars, telling them to help him and bring bail money. LOL.
They were all a bunch of great guys and I’m sure we’ll be doing more events there in the future. We stayed for a little over an hour and then suited down again so that we could get something to eat and head to our 3rd troop of the day… the Kane County Cougars game!

Charity Total: $0 (but future potential for donated comics/books for hospital visits)
