This was a small event, but meaningful for me because it helped support a fantastic new store in the Skokie area. Two proud members of the JRS represented the 501st that day. Harp took my armor and trooped in TIE, and I played the supporting role as Reserve Pilot. Due to the size of the crowd and the temperature in the store, we spent the bulk of our time outside, funneling people in. And stopping traffic. Literally. There was another cosplayer there in Spiderman, and between Harp and Spidey, people were literally stopping in the middle of the road to snap pics. One person nearly got run over in her rush to get a pic with them!
The time flew by quick. Got a ton of pics with kids (and adults), and one notable family even brought Ted some Jamaican food as a 'thanks'
A nice unexpected surprise to say the least. And of course, the both of us stocked up on a few comics/toys while we were there!
