Saturday night’s service I went solo as Vader and “delivered” lines from a skit that the gentleman (Adam) doing announcements and I worked up using a Vader soundboard found online. It was difficult to understand and so they were completely cut for the Sunday morning service at 10am to which Steve M. arrived with his TK. The whole skit took less time than it to get suited up, but everyone got a kick out of it, especially when they played the Imperial March as we entered. Lots of clapping, laughs, and moments of awkward silence as we waited for the audience to end their clapping. Adam then told us that he didn’t think that this is who God intended us to be, and us then looking dejected with our heads down then proceeded to leave the stage. Very short and sweet.

Adam takes a dig at Vader during the “Connect” portion of announcements
. . .Unless your name is Darth Vader and you’re antisocial, then I don’t have a lot of faith that you’ll do well connecting with others.
Play Imperial March
Vader walks on
Vader: “I find your lack of faith disturbing”
Adam: “Whoa, sorry about that. Didn’t mean to offend”
Vader: “Apology accepted”
Adam: “Okay, so we’re cool? I don’t have to call my dad or anything”
Vader: “Luke . . . I am your father”
Adam: “Uhhh, I’m not Luke. I don’t know if you can see through that helmet, but I’m half Thai.”
Vader: “Perhaps you feel you’ve been treated unfairly”
Adam: “Yeah, well you kind of interrupted the gathering here today”
Vader: “You have failed me for the last time”
Pretends to “force” choke Adam
Adam: “Whoa . . . sorry, sorry, don’t do the force choke thing. I’m really sorry”
Vader: “Don’t fail me again”
Adam: “Not a problem.”
Empire music. Vader walks off.
Adam: “What a jerk. Let’s move on from him and check out this video from Scott”

sounded like a LOT of fun and certainly something that those folks don't see every day...
