On Friday June 26th through Saturday June 27th, members of Team "Imperial Walkers" attended their 11th Relay for Life event in Normal, IL. The event kicked off at 4 pm this year. The Relay is normally done outside on a walking track, but due to the heavy rains that saturated the grounds, it made the campgrounds to wet to set up the campsites. Instead, this years Relay was held inside the Normal High School gym. Teams set up on the outer perimeter of the track, the hallways were crowded with relay team members, and vendors. There were rooms for laser tag, and for a silent raffle, where you could bring items, people could purchase tickets, put them in a bucket in front of your item you were auctioning off, and when the auction ended early on Saturday morning, a ticket was drawn and the person who had that ticket was notified, and all the tickets in the bucket were counted, and the money went toward the teams fundraising total. This year, Team Imperial Walkers raised $8,234.68 In attendance were the following:
Jeremy Wilcox Stormtrooper
Barry Benecke II Tusken Raiser
Thomas Durbin Red Stormtrooper
Rick Devine Stormtrooper
Raymond Hartstock Tarful?
Steve Szyndrowski Imperial Officer
Kevin Kemarly Stormtrooper
Nicole Vanbrooker Imperial officer
Robin Benecke Photographer
Lydia Wilcox
If I missed anyone, and I'm sure I did, I will add the names and costumes or handler title as soon as I get it.
This Years Relay total according to my records was $294,182.79
We had 3 members make the "Grand Club" this year
Jeremy Wilcox $1,000.00
Thomas Durbin $1,250.00
Barry Benecke II $5,451.00
Congratulations on 11 successful years of relaying!!!!!

All right, look, there's only one "Return," okay, and it ain't "of the King," it's "of the Jedi!

Thank you for the update Jeremy! I wasn't sure of everyone's trooper number, and I missed a few people.
