Each year starting in 2004, December means the ToyCon Charity Show in Bridgeview. Our mission at this event has always been to raise some money for Children's Treasure Chest for Pediatric Oncology. Patrons make a donation to the charity for a photo with us. MWG and NSB members are also encouraged to bring a toy to donate.
Children's Treasure Chest provides toys to hospitals across the country to give out to kids undergoing treatements and testing in their battles against childhood cancers. I know that there is one of these "Treasure Chests" at Hope/Christ Children's Hospital as I noticed it there on one of our events at that hospital.
This year we raised $191.00 in cash in direct donations.
