Looking for ABS Shoulder Straps

I need to replace the shoulder straps on my TIE armor. The originals were black PVC and did not, alas, withstand the test of time. I was wondering if there were any spares floating around; maybe a sandtrooper kit was built and the straps were omitted for accuracy's sake. Any leads on obtaining a pai...

My new toy. :D :D :D

More pics here.

It's got some extra "battle-damage" that I need to fix, along with some serious modifying, but for my first Boba, I'm pretty happy.

ATTN: Snowies near the City (Chicago)

Just wanted to let you know that I was at JoAnn's (on Elston) last night scouring the material racks and I found some material that could be used for the snowtrooper cowls. It's not 100% screen accurate, but darn close. It has the right amount of gloss as well as the right amount of rigidity. The ma...

The general consensus is that when the armor was shipped to Tunisia some parts were missing and cardboard replacements were substituted on some troopers. You can read the thread here: http://www.mepd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2161&highlight=handplates So, in other words, yes, for all intents and pur...

That TD Designation's So Close....*PICS ADDED*

I've had an AP kit I was going to use to make a TD for over a year and a half and I only recently have started putting it together. I had already cut the pieces out and weathered some of them. Later on, I taped some pieces together, tried it on, got discouraged, grumbled and moped about how it was w...

I'm curious as to how glossy it is.

Does it have a simulated grain (texture)?

Maybe next time we're at the same event I can take a peek at it. That would be awesome.

Thanks!!

Looking for Accurate TS cowl material

From what I can tell it's a thin, glossy, semi-stiff, non-textured vinyl. It's not ridiculously glossy like patent leather though.

I've searched Jo-Ann's, Home Despot, and Menard's, all to no avail.

Any ideas?

Scope - Barrel... one piece? Upon close inspection, I think just the fins were separately cast. What's really nice is that it weighs only about three pounds. I can only imagine how much a MR weighs. Another great thing is that if you drop it on hard concrete, all that happens is that you have to pi...

You can Paint the main tube grey and put the end caps and face plate on--that's how my new kit is built. Put on the metallic mylar strips over the grey cannister. If you didn't get these strips, go to a party store and cut up a silver mylar balloon. Attach metal money clips to the cannister (these a...

My New Kit

For all of the past events I've trooped with an FX armor kit with an AP helmet. Recently, I came across someone who was selling an AP kit without the helmet and I couldn't pass it up. As Ed (TK-4544) can testify, I've spent the better part of a week making alterations, repairs and touch-ups to get i...
