Re: REMINDER: Forum & Site Upgrade

I'm detecting a theme here, so this is posted in the hope that we can come a little bit back down to reality. If you are unable to access certain sections you think you should be able to, please do not assume the worst! Because this software is vastly different from the previous version, permissions...

Map out what you'd like to do, and then calculate the voltage/resistance requirements for it. My TD pack has 4 banks of lights on three circuits, each powered by 12 volts and separate switches (yeah, totally not film accurate, but I don't really give a crap!). I ended up buying my stuff from several...

Plus, you don't have to be a member of a Detachment to be a member of the 501st. Detachment membership is purely optional. And even among Detachments, some have levels of "atta-boy" memberships within them. This is another illustration of why I'm not a fan of publishing these "elite" standards -- th...

I'm not worried about the "licensed" Stormie either. Preliminary reports has it priced rather high for what it is, and nobody has yet seen the real product, so as Terrell said, it might be substandard to the Legion's minimum requirements as the RS Vader is.

Their quality is excellent, but as Terrell said, they're bad about time estimates. My officer was quoted at 6 weeks, but it was closer to 6 months. On the plus side, they were very responsive each time I sent an inquiry, and they also gave me a $20 coupon for the delay.

Greetings, Todd. Welcome aboard! Garrison membership is based on where one lives, but that doesn't stop anyone from trooping wherever they wish. Think of it this way: we are members of the 501st Legion, but are assigned to a Garrison. If you live in Illinois but are physically closer to Iowa, you ca...

I'm 5'8" but I've had to trim my armor as well. Using the divots as a guide for the forearms, I cut probably about two inches off at the wrist end, starting one divot at a time. I used weatherstripping to pad the inside of the forearm so that it wouldn't slide all over the place (faster than working...

I know it's tough to find boots in specific sizes (especially since I think equestrian riders have unnaturally skinny legs....). For me personally, I don't think those work as officer boots. Officer boots, from what I recall, went knee-high, and those look like calf-high; more appropriate for TIE pi...

Greetings, Glenn! Badmommy is right on the mark in that there isn't really a standard "cheap" costume. Even though something like the TIE pilot may seem like it'd be lower in cost, there is a lot that go into them. Mine, for example, has run me about $600 so far in the 3 years that I've owned it -- ...
