Patiently Waiting to join (Bolingbrook, IL)
Hello fellow Star Wars junkies.
I am waiting for my AT-AT Driver suit to be completed, and then I hope to get approved and start trooping with you all.
I am curious on boots, anyone have a suggestions and where I can look for the correct style?
Also, I did a little research and it looks like Drivers carry the Imperial Repeating Pistol... is this correct?
I will take any info and direction I can get!
Joe

Welcome to the boards and looking forward to trooping with you soon. I'm not to far from you, just up 55 to Hickory Hills. Sorry I'm not too familiar with the AT-AT Driver build but someone will be along soon to help.tk041574 wrote:Hello fellow Star Wars junkies.

Hello and welcome to the group!
I believe the primary sidearm choice is the DH-17 blaster. It also looks like an ESB E-11 is also a sidearm choice. I have a message out to the person that made my Power V blaster. There is a chance he also makes the DH-17. Stand by...

Hi Joe,
I have an atat driver costume. You can have a blaster side arm though they were not shown with one in the movie. You can add me on facebook (Andrew Marsh) and I may be able to help you out with tips if things are getting to daunghting. Remember the helmet greeblies are the hardest part.

Welcome aboard sir! Good luck with your armor build! If you decide on a E-11 as your sidearm, I just finished building mine from a Doopydoo's kit, so send me any questions you may have. Or if you'd like to friend me on Facebook, I keep an "Armor Diary" where I post pics and updates on my builds. I'm Robert Redden, I'm in Ted's friend pool too. Hope to troop with you soon !

Re: Patiently Waiting to join (Bolingbrook, IL)
I always loved the AT-AT Driver costume.
Andrew is the best resource we can offer her in the MWG on it, since he's walked the path before you.
FYI, if you can find one, the Hasbro DH-17 is passable with only a few minor modifications. If you can locate one on eBay, that might be the simplest way to go. Unfortunately, they've been out of production for a few years, so they might be hard to come by.
Best of luck with the build, and be sure to keep us posted on your progress here!

Going to go with screen accurate light gray helmet and armor, or "action figure white" ?

Welcome sir! Looking forward to seeing your AT-AT Driver when it is done. Can I also take the AT-AT out for a spin? I promise not to dent it too badly...

Re: Patiently Waiting to join (Bolingbrook, IL)
Wow... thanks for all the kinds words and advice!
Going with the toy white helmet... just love that clean look!
I am going to look into a E-11... and I saw someone with a white leather holster. Would that be passable for the 501st?
I can't see a black holster with my light gray/white suit...
I kicked out a few requests on FB if you passed you name... and I will use you guys for help...
Lastly, my At-At is still very young, in fact one of my thoughts was to carry the toy behind me on a leash...
I was driving around the other day thinking of my suit and I can to a sad realization... my last few vehicles have been silver... silver SUV's... that I could easily mark up with At-At features...
So deep down... I've always wanted this... (since Ted was right and I can't do a Stormtrooper, thanks for crushing my hopes and dreams Ted! ha ha ha!)
Looking forward to trooping with all of you!
Joe
