It was the grand reopening (relocation) of Slackers Music Movies and Games in Fairview Heights (I work for the company and handle all the marketing/advertising, so excuse me if I brag on the store).
For the grand opening we had WWE Superstar Sheamus on hand signing autographs. To help with the event the 501st was enlisted.
The crowd of about 600 people were very receptive to us. We took tons of photos with people and just had a wonderful time. We were also collecting money for the Make A Wish foundation and we raised $64. We also had a woman come up to us who expressed her gratitude for what we do and the fact that we were helping the MAW. Her child was in that program and it meant a lot to her for what we do.
After the signing was over, the 501st were rewarded with photos of Sheamus that he then signed for us. He also took some photos with us before he had to head to Evansville, IN for a show later that night.
And for those of you who didn't hear, Sheamus proceeded to win the Royal Rumble that weekend! It's almost like they knew he was going to win, and that's why we got him....but how could they have known that?
